Setting up Operating Systems (special instructions) ...

I installed Operating Systems on my new machine; these were the steps I followed:

1. Windows 7 Installation
1.01 Buy Windows 7 for cheap; $29.99 for direct download.
1.02 Create Boot CD by burning the downloaded ISO.
1.03 Run CD from new system.
1.04 Follow instructions from Microsoft.
1.05 Congratulations you should now have Windows 7 on your Machine.
1.06 Enter Product Key to Authenticate your version of Windows.
1.07 Receive Error "Product Key not Valid".
1.08 Retype Key 3 more times.
1.09 Realize you are not making typing mistakes and you can read alphabets and numerals correctly.
1.10 Panic !
1.11 Search for suggestions on online forums.
1.12 Understand that 'Upgrade Only Copy' implies that Copy can only be used for Upgrade.
1.13 Stand Up.
1.14 Throw your hands on your head.
1.15 Scratch your head very slowly.
1.16 Visit Software Download Page on University/College Website.
1.17 Note down Product Key for Windows 7.
1.18 Successfully Authenticate your Windows 7 Installation with new product key.
1.19 Enjoy your free Student copy of Windows 7 for which you paid $29.99.

2. Ubuntu 9.10 Installation (Karmic Koala)
2.01 Download Ubuntu 9.10 from Ubuntu website and create Boot CD.
2.02 Run CD from System Boot.
2.03 Reach Partitioning Options Screen.
2.04 Search through Installation Guidelines and a variety of other online forums to figure out how to partition for accurate functioning of your Dual Boot System.
2.05 Successfully install Ubuntu 9.10.
2.06 Realize that no matter how many times your restart your system, your Ubuntu is not functioning properly.
2.07 Try reinstalling Ubuntu over previous install.
2.08 Download and create boot CD for Ubuntu 9.10 Server Edition.
2.09 Successfully install Server Edition.
2.10 Stare at Server Terminal for a few minutes and press the big round button on CPU.
2.11 Try installing fresh copy of Ubuntu from scratch in a different partition.
2.12 Again read through 100 different Ubuntu Forums to find answer.
2.13 Download and create boot CD of Ubuntu; Version 9.04 (Jaunty Jackalope).
2.14 Install Ubuntu 9.04.
2.15 Rejoice at the success of persistence.
2.16 See that you now have 1 installation of Windows, 1 installation of Ubuntu 9.04 and 2 installations of Ubuntu 9.10.
2.17 Reinsert boot CD for Ubuntu 9.04 delete all unwanted partitions containing Windows installations and merge partitions.
2.18 Complete fresh installation of Ubuntu 9.04.
2.19 Take a deep breath.
2.20 Insert CD for Ubuntu 9.10
2.21 Run Update Manager for Ubuntu.
2.22 Successfully follow all instructions.
2.23 Shut down computer.
2.24 Go for a long walk.

3. Punch (in the face) anyone who suggests usage of Windows installer - Wubi or VMware in-place of dual boot.
